Winter Is Here!

Well, this winter storm has shut down the town. I-25 and I-40 are more or less shut down in town and out of town to the state lines, north, west and east. We haven't had this much snow in quite a while. The forecast is for a possible 1-3" more snow this morning. This picture was taken out the front door not long before it finally stopped. E just put in some laundry, sounds like. I need to do another load or two later today or tomorrow. It's just after 9 a.m. Going to take a shower. Need to wrap some Christmas presents! TTFN

It's Almost Here!

Today is my first day of vacation! I'm glad I didn't have to go to work today. It's been snowing for three or four hours and doesn't show any sign of stopping any time soon. The back yard is white. The van out in the front yard is covered with snow and the street is white, too.

Eddie has to go into work at 4 today and work until closing. I hope he doesn't have too much trouble getting home.

This storm is supposed to be out of here tomorrow sometime. But we may have another storm in here on Friday. But it's not supposed to be as big as this storm.

The babies (two dogs and two cats) are in the house. Mistress (E's cat) thinks she wants outside. She keeps going to the door, but I don't think she really wants to go out in the cold snow. Lucy and Watson (dogs) are asleep in front of the two couches.

I just took a couple of pictures out the back door. Watson got up to see what I was doing. I'll post this and then go back and post the pictures. I also took some pictures of Lucy and Watson, I don't know if they came out any good yet. TTFN

Almost Done!

Wow! I'm so proud of myself! I have all my Christmas shopping done, except for one more. I usually haven't even started yet! But I was sort of forced into doing it earlier since we're going to Texas.

Excited about our trip to Texas. It will be here before we know it! Everything is coming together. Now I just hope the weather cooperates!

It started out pretty cold this morning, but it warmed up pretty nice this afternoon. Although we have some clouds moving in. It's supposed to be a little bit cooler and maybe a chance for a shower.

The Denver Broncos are losing. Cowboys plan tonight, hope they do better than the Broncos.

Got a busy week coming up. We'll do our last paper of the year at work this week. Finish it up on Monday the 18th and that's my last day at work. Our office will go to lunch that day and exchange gifts. Our staff meeting, Christmas lunch and goodie day is on Thursday. I'm going to bake some cookies and probably take some hot chocolate with some Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses.

I'm working on a plastic canvas boutique kleenex box cover, my last one. I'm going to take six of those to work. I also have six covers for steno pads. I decided to do those instead of being part of the drawing names and exchanging gifts. I had decided to do this earlier this year. The covers for the steno pads take a bit of time, so I only have six of those. It only takes about a week to do a kleenex box cover, boutique size.

Need to send an e-mail and then work on my plastic canvas. TTFN

Update

Well, our weather has stayed cold. It's warming up little by little each day, but it is very cold at night. Nice and sunshiny during the day. There is a little bit of a breeze outside now.

It's lunch time, but I'm still at work, getting ready to leave. I'm taking the afternoon off and I'm going to get my hair cut and frosted.

Went Christmas shopping with my husband last night. He wanted a new blazer (jacket). His others have gotten too small (around the middle). That middle age spread is spreading! (I have put on a few pounds, too!) Found him one at Sears. Then we found what I wanted, a pair of black boots at J.C. Penney's. Those are our Christmas presents to each other.

It's a busy time of the year, lots going on, both at home and at work.

Got a letter from Mom on Monday, she sounds really good. She says her leg is healing, which is good. I haven't been noticing how cold it is there. They have been busy. She likes it there, I'm glad. She'll get to see the grandkids and great-grandkids. She might think about coming home after the first of the year, but for now, she's enjoying herself.

Clearing off my desk before I leave. TTFN
