Where Does It Go?

Where does the time go? Has it really been two weeks since I posted something?

It's been busy. Work, work, work. It's the busy time of the year for me. And I'm trying to get in some vacation days. I still have about 8 days of vacation to take before the end of the year. I think I'm going to take a few Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings, so I take a day at a time. I can take three days before Christmas. I don't know yet when hubby is out of school. We are planning on going to Texas during the holidays.

Will be out of town to Clovis for the annual meeting next week. The following week P and I will go to Glorieta for our staff retreat. It doesn't look like there are very many spouses going. But we're excited about getting to see the changes that have been made there. We will be staying in the Hall of States, which has just reopened. It has been updated, including telephone message system, internet access, and a few other amenities.

Then I will have day surgery on the 16th of November. Will have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to recover, then back to work for three days. I have a feeling that will be a rough three days. Haven't really made any plans for Thanksgiving yet. My brother and his wife had said they might come out here, but they're not coming.

Hope the family in Texas is enjoying the Dixon's apples we sent them. The balloons got to fly Thursday and Friday for the special shapes, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We were supposed to have rain this weekend, but it held off until Saturday night. It cleared off Sunday morning, was nice, balloons went up and dotted the sky with their colors.

E was off today, so we all went out to play nine holes of golf. We don't get to do that very often, so it was a nice time together. I needed the exercise, didn't do too bad, considering I hadn't been out to play in a couple of months. Not used to that much walking, so I'm a little stiff tonight. But it was good quality time for the family. Just missing our daughter.

Hope she's doing well and enjoying school. She was excited about the quarterback of the football team giving her a compliment. She never would have had that happen back here. She's learning how different things are in a small town, compared to the big city. But I think it's a good environment for her.

Broncos and Raiders game will start in a little while. TTFN

Is it really?

Is it really already Oct. 1? Wow! Where is it going? It seems to be going by so fast!

It's pretty cool in the mornings, but warming up during the day. It's that time of the year when you have to dress in layers.

Went looking for my daughter's leather jacket to send her and can't find it. But I will send her several other sweaters and jackets. She just can't get over the fact that the high school where she's going in Texas did not have a homecoming dance. They had a king and queen, had a rally and a football game, but no dance. I told her she's in a whole different mind-set over there than here in New Mexico.

Been taking it easy this weekend. I took Friday off. I just took it easy, did go out to drop off a check. Hubby came home from school early with a toothache. Was referred to another dentist way out in Rio Rancho by our regular dentist's office. They gave him some antibiotics, pain killer (vicodin) and he has to go back on Monday for a root canal. Needless to say, he has not felt very good. He feels a little better today, but he slept off and on all day yesterday.

Going to finish getting caught up on all our shows we recorded during the week before the Cowboys game starts. TTFN
